Discover Gold

The EIDorado Canyon mine. This tour features: The Techatticup Mine, which is one of the oldest and richest Gold Mines in Southern Nevada. Tucked away in a corner of the Colorado river, it was first said to be officially discovered in 1861.

One step into the shop, I felt like a kid again. With every direction you look, there's something that pulls you in to get a better glimpse. So much history all in one a place. We first start off with an engaging storyteller who turns out to be our guide for the tour. Next, we walk through the old town leading up to the entrance of the mine. Upon entering, you are hit with a gust of cold air. The guide goes on to explain how and who walked among those tunnels. Too curious to listen my eyes ran across the quartz which once held gold and silver in its veins. Incredibly, when the light hits just right, you can see the shimmer of the flakes left in the stone.

This hard rock mine tour is approximately 50 miles outside of Vegas. Reservations are required. It might be off the beaten track but is an adventure you won't forget! Make sure to give a hello to Bobbi.
